Past Tournament Winners

First Annual

The first tournament was held July 25 and 26, 1985. There were 27 teams from around Utah , Nevada and Arizona , drawing approximately 350 players plus their families. Hess Construction of Boulder City, Nevada won this tournament.

Second Annual

The following year on July 26 and 27th the second tournament was held. We had to turn a number of teams away due to lack of facilities to play the games, but we did conduct a 40 team tournament. Teams came to this tournament from around Utah , Nevada , Arizona and Idaho , drawing approximately 500 players plus their families. This Tournament was won by WESCO from Price, Utah .

Third Annual

The third year saw the Rooster Valley grow to in excess of forty teams. It was played over three days, July 23, 24, 25. Two champions were crowned. Division 1 was won by Halbert Construction of Sunset, Utah . Division 2 was won by the Deer Creek Diggers from Huntington , Utah .

Fourth Annual

In the Fourth Rooster Valley Classic the tournament expanded to two weekends, July 15 & 16 and July 22 & 23. The first weekend brought sunshine and smiles as the Rooster Valley played host to its first ever Women's Team Champion, exhibiting great spirit and enthusiasm. On the second weekend 45 men's teams showed up to battle in the men's C & D divisions. When the balls finally stopped popping, Brandbury Park of Provo had won the Class D championship and for the first time a local team, Aurora Welding came away with the Class C championship, bringing a special excitement to the home town crowd.

Fifth Annual

The Fifth Annual Tournament swelled to 54 teams and was more fun and exciting than ever, as Cedar Merchants reigned as our Men's Class C championship and Trojan Corp. outlasted the competition in the D division to win that title. While Zions Motors of St. George won the Ladies C & D championship and Rose's insurance won the recreation title for the women.

Sixth Annual

The Sixth Annual Tournament had nearly 50 teams and saw the Classic played in the popular Double elimination format for the first time Utah Barricade put up a real road block in front of the rest of the C field and walked away with the elite title. In the D division Bob Zowrotney's University Hyundai defeated local favorites, Robinson Transport to claim the title that Bob and many others have long coveted.

Seventh Annual

The Seventh Annual Rooster Valley Super Softball Classic was a great tournament with over 40 teams participating. Robinson Transport of Salina , Utah went undefeated to capture the elite C title. Young's Paint from Vernal, Utah defeated a very talented McDonald's team from Spanish Fork, Utah area in the final game of elimination that went 9 innings. WOW! What a finish.

Eighth Annual

The Eighth Annual Classic fielded nearly 40 teams. Robinson Transport of Salina , Utah shined as our top C team, while Saddle House from Provo , Utah rode through the competition like a powerful steed defeating a strong and talented Rasmussen Masonry. In the Recreation Division, Images of Provo battles their way to a title against local favorites, Sorenson Dental Lab.

Nineth Annual

The Ninth Annual Classic was just that A CLASSIC! 43 teams rolled into Rooster Valley and put it all on the line while fighting for the Men's D championship. Weapon's Warriors from Salina , Utah pulled out the final game of the championship with a thrilling 7 run rally in the bottom of the 7th to beat a very talented American Fence Team which was led by one of Rooster Valley 's greatest supporters Key Daly. The Recreation Champion was Hoyts Bonding from Cedar City who defeated local favorites Coca-Cola of Richfield 10- 7.

Tenth Annual

The Tenth Annual Classic broke all record for numbers of teams, 73 in all with 16 teams being women's teams. Clearwater Trucking beat a great field of Women's Teams to claim the title for the St. George bunch. Southern UT Sports Medicine defeated Trail Creek Outfitter for the D Crown and St. George Muffler, with owner Jim Allen who is Mr. Class himself, defeated an always tough Sanpete Merchant bunch! Tie Systems a longtime Rooster Valley favorite claimed the E title!

Eleventh Annual

The Eleventh Annual Classic brought over 60 teams to our valley and crowned 3 champions, Birchwood Cabinets of Orem overcame a determined women's field to reign as Ladies Champions outlasting an excellent St. George Muffler team. Horizon Management from Provo rolled through perhaps the toughest men's field ever defeating "No Fear" of Ogden for the C & D Championship! Cedar Builders of Cedar City pounded their way to the E Division Championship.

Twelfth Annual

The Twelfth Annual Classic nearly equaled the record Tenth Classic in numbers of teams. There were 72 in all, 52 men's teams and 20 women's teams. Burchwood Cabinets won the women's tournament defeating Robinson Transport. Copy Cat of Provo duplicated their championship from the year before by ousting the always tough, St. George Muffler. Mark Jensen's 'Young Guns', from Delta triumphed the E Division.

Thirteenth Annual

The Thirteenth annual Rooster Valley Super Softball Classic saw softball favorite Jose Ventura and his "Timp Title" Team mow down the competition and win the championship in the men's D Division, while Mark Peterson led the way for Maglebys and Associates in the Men's "E" Division. "Birchwood Cabinets" reign again as the Women's overall Champions.

Fourteenth Annual

In the Fourteenth annual, Felt Auto a long time tournament favorite with a group of players that have many years of Rooster Valley experience did everything right and beat all the competition for the men's "D" title. Jay's Diesel won the E Division and Hamilton Brothers Electric won the Women's overall championship. As we fought through the worst rain storm in tournament history everyone worked together to make this years tournament a great success

Fifteenth Annual

In the Fifteenth Annual Rooster Valley Classics, reigning champions Hamilton Brothers Electric dominated the field in the Women's D & E Divisions using masterful defense and punishing hitting to establish their championship. Sandridge Construction came loaded for bear with their skills honed razor sharp and marched on to a hard fought victory over the always tough A & B from St. George to net the Men's Class D Championship. While local stalwarts Chain Gang scratched and clawed their way to the Men's E Champion's beating a gritty tough Big Dog Bar from Price.

Sixteenth Annual

In the Sixteenth Annual Rooster Valley Classic, Club 31 of Orem out classed the field steam rolling to victory, in the Women's Tournament. Billy Hales' American Lending Network Team from Salina , Utah , used powerful hitting and solid defense to bring the Men's Class D Title home against a tough and determined Yankens Team from Southern Nevada . Drew Marshall and his ever present B&K Team from Spanish Fork best local crowd pleasers USANA, Men's E Division.

Seventeenth Annual

The 17th annual RVSSC was as exciting as ever with 29 men's teams competing. The whether was great and softball fever was in the air. Ray Butcher's Accent Surfaces banged their way to the men's E championship. After many years of valiant efforts, Ray and his team were finally rewarded with the big prize! In the Men's D Division, Robinson Transport showed speed, power and grace as they bested a very pesky Sugarville Cuber Team from Delta.

Eighteenth Annual

In the eighteenth annual Rooster Valley Classic the heavens burst with rain and thunder announcing the big event.  The newly redone fields held up great and provided an awesome setting for the 2002 championships.  High Country of Salt Lake City showed great heart and determination winning the Women's Championship.
In the "E" division, American Lending Network showed tremendous courage, crushing the ball and using tenacious defense to beat their foes PLT. Jose Ventura's "DUKES" of Provo, Utah showed they were one of the top teams in the nation beating the always powerful "Tallon Painting."

Nineteenth Annual

Forty eight teams squared off and the only way to describe the 19th annual Rooster Valley Super Softball Classic was "Smooth."   From the get go everything fell into perfect place.  Sandell, of Delta, Utah throttled their way to the first ever Coed Championship.  In outstanding weather and Field of Dream fashion KSA nipped Tram Electric to win the Women's title while Truck Source, a long time friend of the Rooster Valley rested an excellent Weapons Warriors team for the "E" crown.  A valiant Robinson Transport team used veteran know how with rookie athleticism to beat Elkridge Financial for the coveted "D" championship and a piece of Rooster Valley Super Softball Classic History.

Twentieth Annual

The 2004 20th annual Rooster Valley Super Softball Classic was held as is the tradition over the last two weekends in July.  The first weekend was for Co-Ed teams.  The hard fought tournament boiled down to two real fine squads, Sheriden Ent. from Salina area and the 2003 champion Sandell team from the Gunnison area.  When the balls finally stopped flying, Sandell retained their crown with great defense and timely hitting.
The second weekend brought forty teams, 30 mens and 8 womens.  31 Club from Orem overpowered Gold Gym of Provo to garner the Rooster Valley Super Softball Classic victory title and revit in their great success.
On the men's side, Black Jack from SLC throttled up and stormed to victory over the always fiesty Truck Source from St. George in the Class E Division.

The mens D Division saw one of the strongest field of teams ever assembled in the state.  After two grueling days and over 100 games played the cream rose to the top as Chisholm Denistry and Tallon Painting played a brilliant championship game in which newly elected Rooster Valley Super Softball Classic Hall of Famer, Richard Chisholm and his boys of summer held on in a squeaker over Wess and the crew.  Oh my what a Tournament!
